Use this space to share ideas for ways any of the Cool Tools could be used in your curriculum.

Cool Tools seems to be a great resource for engaging students in interactive learning across the curriculum using technology. In this world technology is becoming everything and by introducing out students to content using the Cool Tools resources we will be benefiting them in many ways.
The audio tools would be very useful for ESL students, as well as for those who have to miss school. As a teacher I could upload sound to any picture or lesson that I create and that way the students can hear my voice and explanation as they learn.
Image tools are extremely valuable for documentation. As elementary teachers we work with a wide variety of parents and family members who often times want to know what it happening in the classroom and what their students are learning. Using image tools such as snapfish and photo bucket we can save images for others to view and download for their own use. These are also great tools for enhancing our lessons with images that will grasp the student’s attention.
As the push towards standardized testing is increased and the content that we must teach our students is growing programs such as music education are being eliminated. Music enhances children’s learning in many ways and the resources Cool Tools has provided to incorporate music in our classrooms are perfect for creating simple lessons that include some type of music. Children are exposed to all types of music throughout the day whether it is on TV or the computer and they enjoy it. The resources such as Jitterbug and Classic Cat allow teachers to incorporate educational music that will enhance the students learning especially those who are auditory learners.

To enhance your curriculum, cool tools can be utilized in many ways. Students will be able to engage in a world of technology when they use the cool tools audio tools. Audio tools can be very beneficial to students who miss class while on vacation or even if they are ill for several days. One of the audio files I researched was called Chirbit. Chirbit is a free online audio tool that you can create webpage’s and PowerPoint presentations and then add your own voice recordings. Lesson plans can be uploaded and the teacher can tape their voice or even add video to a lesson plan that students can access from home. These tools can also be very useful when parents need to communicate with teachers if they cannot meet with them in person.
I would use this form of audio tool to help students create their own presentations. This can help students who have phobias about talking in front of the classroom or would be useful for students with multiple intelligences. In designing a lesson plan that would incorporate the use of this technology, I would have students create a presentation or a webpage that would be for example, on pollution. This earth science project would have to include graphics and a narration of each graphic with explanations. Specific instructions would be given and the students would have to follow certain guidelines and rules about using the chirbit website. If a webpage is created, students would embed their audio file into their webpage to talk about their webpage and how they created their designs and what the purpose of the page would be.
By using these tools, students can build a world of understanding and enhance their technological learning experiences.
